Artwork Documentation: - The Lionel Thomas Mosaic Mural,
in Vancouver, depicts the archaic symbols from which our alphabet
evolved. It was constructed from vitreous glass tiles from Italy, and was one of the first of its
kind in North America.
Photogrammetric documentation and digital rectification
(orthophoto) of the mural image were executed before its removal. With precise color
reference, it was possible to assign two dimensional coordinates for each of its 1x1 inch
tiles. Exact re-assembly will be possible when a new location is found.
